I’m in the last few weeks of getting my book ready to launch. This video will help you understand some of the steps that I took and wish I could do over again.
Along the way, I made a few hundred mistakes and these are the three that caused me more pain than most. The truth is what I’ve learned along the way will make my next effort a much better and effective one.
My big three:
- Writing a fiction work when I’ve never really written fiction.
- Not starting the process with a writing coach/content editor on board.
- Starting the planning process for marketing the book launch way too late.
Why don’t you watch the video and let me know what you think? And, to get the book, just click on this link and find out how you can get the book for a dramatically discounted rate……but not till February 1st.
Josh,
Your experience was similar to mine.
Our markets are different.
My book “Living and Learning” came out in 2005 after 11/2 years from beginning to end.
I also began by dictating, but very soon, switched to handwriting my copy (this is how I like to do it).
I also edited the book (it was co-written with Robert Keebler, CPA.
The experience was long, tedious, exciting and rewarding.
After approval by my compliance department (a feat in itself) I was all set.
My marketing was very personal. I went to centers of influence and discussed the book and endorsed copies for them to give out to their clients. The endorsements were very complimentary to those centers of influence who gave them away. It also helped establish my credibility with those centers AND their clients.
It did help my business grow.
