You know how important it is for you to make wise decisions. When you do this you find that life is just a better place to be.
The truth is you have tons of wisdom and it’s different from those who give you advice. There is no reason for you to see yourself as having less wisdom than those who advise you. We know you have tons of wisdom and you are the expert at what you want for your life and business.
You know how important it is for you to make wise decisions. When you do this, you find that life is just a better place to be. You know, too often I see blue collar business owners, like you, feel they have no wisdom to share. When I see this, I often find the owners feel inferior to the advisors they work with, and even sometimes to their employees. And I have to tell you, there is absolutely no reason for you to feel that way. And the reason is, the truth is you have tons of wisdom and it’s different from those who give you advice.
There is no reason for you to see yourself as having less wisdom than those who advise you. We know you’re the expert at what you want for your life and your business.
You might think staying in control is not always a good thing. I can tell you, there are times that, that’s true, and more often than not, when you lose control, you’re often not gonna get the result you want.
So I know many of us think it’s a bad idea to be a control freak. Yeah, in some ways that is a bad thing. In other ways, if you’re not gonna be a control freak, you’re just not gonna get the results you want when you’re working with other people, and you need to find a way to stay in control, where it’s not overbearing.
You know, the truth is, and a lot of times, I think this is absolutely what I find. I feel like I’m walking a tightrope, and there are times this is gonna be true.
Now, the way to make sure you get the outcome you want is to do the following things.
- Number one, use our Stage 2 Decision Process to decide what you want. And again, this Stage 2 Decision Process is very simple. We start with what we wanna do, we then dig down on why, and we dig down why five levels, and then we go back and say, okay, now we know why we wanna do, doesn’t make sense that what we we wanna do is going to fit best with this. Often you’re gonna find you go back, and you revisit why you change it. Then you move down to who’s gonna help you, and then how we’re finally gonna get there.
- The second thing you can do is from the Stage 2 Decision Process, figure out who you need to help you with getting the result you want. Now that’s step 4 of of the Stage 2 Decision Process, which is who’s gonna help you. Once you know what you want, and why you want it, and you’re very clear about it, figuring out who you need to help, or at least what the roles are you need to help, there’s a relative easy. Once you figure out the role you need to help, it could be and internal person, it might be an external person. If it’s an internal person you want to say, what are the skill set they’re bringing to the party? If it’s an external person, it’s not only what’s the skillset they’re bringing to the party, but do they have a good fit for us? Are they gonna fit well and work well with my company, and with me, and are they gonna be willing to do the activities we want them to do, and are they gonna respect my expertise?
- Number three, focus on your result, and make sure those you ask to help stay true to your vision and wisdom, you bring to the party. Now, this is really important. Advisors will often advise you as if what they’re advising you about is what they’re don’t for themselves, not for you. And that’s where you need to be really clear about what it is you want, what your expertise is, and why you think it fits with your your life, not when it fits in with their life.
I know it’s really hard to do this. You may not want to rock the boat, or you might feel that you’re paying a lot of money for outside expertise, and you have to listen to that expertise, because you’re paying a lot of money for it.
Well, true you should be listening to an outside expertise, but if that outside expertise doesn’t fit with what you want, in your expertise, and you being an expert about what your are, then you have to stop. You have to say, “You know this is not working. We either need to this, or we need to make a change.” I get that this is really a difficult thing, and at the same time you need to keep your focus on your vision, not with what your advisor’s vision is.
When you do this, you’ll find that you go from feeling that your not the smart one, to getting the results you want in the way you want.
